Zara Phillips made her team equestrianism debut in 2004 at the UAE International Horse Trials at Windsor. Phillips had a fall on the cross-country course but remounted to finish. In September 2005, Zara Phillips took two gold medals at the European Eventing Championships.She won the individual title; and Britain came top of the teams.Zara Phillips, who was riding Toytown, was presented with her medals by her mother Princess Anne, who herself was European champion at 21.
In August 2006, Zara Phillips went one better when she won the individual gold medal in the three-day eventing competition at the World Equestrian Games. Zara Phillips and Toy Town became the 2006 World Eventing Champions ahead of Clayton Fredericks (silver) and Amy Tryon (bronze).
Zara Phillips was voted the 2006 BBC Sports Personality of the Year and to cap it all, in December 2006, when the New Year Honours were announced she was made an MBE.Zara Phillips had been named in the GB eventing line-up for the 2008 Olympics, however an injury to her horse Toytown forced her withdrawal.
